Water Governance Institute (WGI) is an evidence based, not-for-profit, non-political and Non-Government Organization (NGO) established in October 2008 and registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee in February 2009.

The primary purpose of the institution is to engage government and other stakeholders on policy, governance and development issues related to water, its associated natural resources, infrastructure and availability challenges linked to its use, climate variability and change.
